Match Report – HFLFC v Arun View Vets

Worthing & Horsham District Sunday League – Vets Division Sunday September 10th 2017 – TD Shipley

FT Hills Farm Lane Vets 3 – Arun View Vets 2

Hills farm started the defence of third place in the league with a hard earned win at home to new boys Arun View.
A pulsating game, played in good spirit (apart from a bit of handbags from two koppites) somehow remained 0-0 until half time.
Hills Farms' players listened carefully to the half time talk from manager Murph and Captain, Big D and as usual went out and played like strangers, and conceded within 5 minutes.
After a further ten minutes of trying to get back into the game parity was restored with an awesome penalty strike by Karim (Benzema) Hamouda, converting into the top corner having been brought down in the act of shooting.
Hills Farm then took the lead as Karim seemed to take an age to pick his spot from the edge of the box before passing the ball into the far bottom corner.
The home team then enjoyed some good possession before disaster struck and Arun view equalised with 5 minutes left. Murph made a couple of astute changes, bringing Gareth Jones back into the midfield and replacing the tiring Karim with Jason Grubb up front, and the change paid off as Grubby found Big D - Darron Mitchell free on goal. The big Jamaician coolly rounded the keeper to slot the ball and regain the lead with minutes to spare. The final minutes were played out well by the home team to seal a great victory.
The match was an exciting and close fought game and it would be no surprise if the top of the table at the end of the season featured both sides.
