Match Report – HFLFC v FC Zimmer Vets

Worthing & Horsham District Sunday League – vets division Sunday October 29th – TD Shipley

Hills Farm Lane Vets 6  – 1 FC Zimmer Vets

Manager – Mark Murphy

Hills Farm approached this game with a mixture of confidence, brought on by their recent thrashing of Goring CC, and trepidation given that Zimmer had pipped them to second place last season with a heavy defeat!
But Hills farms attack carried on where they left off in that last game with goals from Karim and Gavin putting the home team three nil up by halt time..
With the luxury of a 3 goal cushion Murph was able to ring the changes at half time and Nav, Reg and big Darron entered the fray as well as Murph himself.
The changes had no effect on the scoring rate however as the farm doubled their lead to 6-0 before relaxing too early and conceding a sickener to surrender the clean sheet.
Still, an excellent solid and entertaining home win to keep up the title challenge and a fine win against a team who will almost certainly be challenging for the title come the spring.
