“Rusty Brains” enjoy a visit to the site

On Tuesday the 30th October we were very pleased to welcome the “Rusty Brains” to the site. The Rusty Brains group is organised by the Horsham Alzheimer’s Society, and they meet regularly to enjoy various activities in the area. This week we were fortunate to welcome the group to try their luck at pétanque, proving great success all round!

It was a cold day, but it was dry and we kept warm playing a series of matches, enjoyed by all, and then a welcome cup of team in the club house after!  Real improvement was seen throughout the session and the competitive nature came out towards the end!

Some of the participants gave us some ideas about how we can make the area more “dementia friendly”, such as marking the steps with clear yellow lines, and we will work towards that. We look forward to welcoming the Rusty Brains again in the near future – probably in the Spring when it gets a bit warmer!  Thanks to everyone who came along and helped out.
